A glorious field of highly accomplished spellers resulted in three champions this week.
I was so blinded by their brilliance and busy with attempts to hand out t-shirts that I forgot to write their names and winning words down!

Katherine with a K
The Portland Spelling Bee is an adults-only competition held every Monday night (7 pm) at Mississippi Pizza. Host Katherine with a K reads the words, providing definitions and sentences, and dispenses prizes to the audience and the occasional second chance to contestants (and the CHAMPION t-shirts!). And, there are drink specials, often the Honey Bee Margarita, devised by Mark the Bartender especially for the Portland Spelling Bee.
