Katherine with a K
The Portland Spelling Bee is an adults-only competition held every Monday night (7 pm) at Mississippi Pizza. Host Katherine with a K reads the words, providing definitions and sentences, and dispenses prizes to the audience and the occasional second chance to contestants (and the CHAMPION t-shirts!). And, there are drink specials, often the Honey Bee Margarita, devised by Mark the Bartender especially for the Portland Spelling Bee.

Ow ow ow! -- one for each mistake I made. Dang, I always get supersede wrong. It's one of those where you say, "I get it wrong, so I'll choose my SECOND guess," but then it turns out that your first guess was correct. Arggh arggh triple-arggh.
